Lithium battery packs come in a number of different adaptations. Lithium Thionyl Chloride (LiSOCl2) is a single use (primary) battery chemistry that is extensively used within the oil and gas industry for downhole applications where high temperatures and extreme vibrations are the norm. A more familiar battery chemistry to most is lithium-ion (Li-ion), a rechargeable (secondary) cell that is used to power a huge range of products including mobile phones and laptop computers, medical and safety equipment, electric vehicles and countless industrial applications.

Benefiting from high energy density, low self-discharge rates and rapid charge times, lithium-ion battery packs are very popular. With increasing energy density, these packs are even starting to provide an alternative to Lithium Thionyl Chloride in certain applications resulting in considerable cost savings.

Our custom built lithium battery packs are assembled using high quality cells from well known and highly respected cell manufacturers such as Panasonic, Tadiran and Electrochem. Designed ‘in-house’ by a team of experienced engineers and assembled using the latest equipment and techniques, our battery packs are trusted to power critical applications where failure is simply not an option.
